Ego Trip Presents Cosmo Baker’s Top 10 Sample Flips

My friends at Ego Trip magazine basically used to have the world’s greatest, funniest (and most forward-thinking) magazines of my lifetime… Next to On The Go that is. So when they relaunched for the 21st Century on the web, they basically went into overdrive with some of the best content out, including but not limited to the hilarious and genius rantings of one of our generation’s greatest minds, this guy. They also ended up giving yours truly my own column that is severely neglected, but I’ll get back to that later. Anyway, one of the really best things they have right now is a running piece Top 10 Sample Flips. If you know me, and you know my level of nerddom, understand that this is obviously right up my alley.

With names like El-P, Waajeed, Large Professor, J. Rocc, A-Trak, Muro, Prince Paul, DJ Spinna, Four Tet, House Shoes and others contributing, it is a sincere honor that they asked me to join these ranks.

So without further ado, heres Cosmo Baker’s Top 10 Sample Flips.

Public Statement Regarding The Rub

Today I am announcing that due to circumstances, I will no longer be participating as a member of The Rub. The demands of my solo career have made it so that I will be unable to perform at our monthly in Brooklyn, nor will I be doing any more touring with the group.

I’m grateful for the way my involvement with The Rub has helped forge my career, as well as the manner in which my presence has helped make The Rub the historical entity that it is, shaping music & DJ culture into what we now see today in the 21st Century. I am so grateful for the fans that have supported us across the globe, as well as in our home of Brooklyn, NY. I look forward to humbly serving them in the future, returning the love that has been given over the past decade. And I’m thankful for a great DJ partnership that lasted for so long, and trust that the future of the group will be bright.

There are no real endings in life, only points where certain stories conclude, which in turn allow other greater stories to begin. This is such an exciting time and I can’t wait to share it with all of you! Again, thanks for everything…

Peace & Love,

Cosmo Baker

Cosmo Baker’s Hangover Cure In Details Magazine

Last month my good friends at Details Magazine asked me to opine in on what my personal hangover cure is. Not that I am really that well versed in the subject and all. So me, Tom Colicchio, Sam Trammell and others let the world (or at least Details readers know) how we combat the dreaded day after. Mine is a little colorful, but hey… at least it’s true.

Cosmo Baker in Quint Magazine

Here’s a quick little interview that I did for Quint Magazine, a Dubai based rag that my friend Break DJ Lobito is involved with. Lobito is a member of the Deep Crates Cartel, a Middle East crew of DJs that are all into going deep with their records (duh) and that I am affiliated with. Big shout to Lobito, Ahmed, Cipher Entertainment and the rest of my fan over there. This is just the beginning of some bigger things so expect more stuff like this to come.
