Cosmo Baker is a DJ, musician, entrepreneur, influencer, brand consultant, educator, activist, community leader and Philadelphian. Known globally as one of the top-tier DJs on the planet, Cosmo has toured the planet dozens of times and played many times on 5 different continents, in almost 50 different countries, in front of tens of thousands of people at once. He’s widely regarded as an integral figure of the already rich Philadelphia DJ legacy alongside legends and contemporaries such as DJ Jazzy Jeff, Questlove and Diplo. A master of “open format”, Cosmo’s known worldwide for his genre-spanning selection, technical prowess, and explosive stage presence and energy that he brings to shows.

Having lived in Brooklyn for the better part of 15 years, in 2016 Cosmo returned to his native Philly to open up Scratch DJ Academy Philadelphia. Scratch Philly – now the 6th location along with NYC, LA, Miami, Chicago & Atlanta – is the industry’s leader in DJ & production education and has taught over 500,000 students globally over the past 13 years. As Director of Scratch Philly, Cosmo and his staff have already taught hundreds of students, as well as having had involvement with community-driven programs for adjudicated and opportunity youth in multiple community centers and schools throughout the city. And as an educator Cosmo works tirelessly to continuously keep perfecting his own craft, as well as teaching those skills to others, with one foot resting in tradition and the other in new developments.
In addition to his influence in the world or music, Cosmo has always been deeply involved in the arts community, with work ranging from being a member of the Advisory Council of the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program, to having been one of the the producers of the 2016 temporarily pop-up tour force installation Truth To Power held in Philadelphia in the summer of 2016 coinciding with the Democratic National Convention. As a DJ, he’s also been a fixture on the scene of many fine, established institutions such as The Guggenheim Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, The Brooklyn Museum, The Smithsonian Institute, Cooper-Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, Ohio State University’s Wexner Center For The Arts, Art Basel, Juxtapose, Wooster Collective, and Shepard Fairey.
