Wedding Testimonials

“Cosmo was the BEST DJ. We already knew this going into the wedding because we had done years of painstaking research. We were club rats at The Rub, APT, I Love Vinyl, Open at Santos Party House, No Malice Palace, and on and on. Of all those amazing A-list DJs and incredible parties, Cosmo’s sets and parties were always the most fun, hands down. The bride vividly remembers dancing on stage to one of his sets at a New Year’s Eve party… As expected, our guests LOVED his party. He has a psychologist’s ability to read the room combined with the superlative musical taste only a deep crate-digger can acquire. We only regret that the party couldn’t go on all night. We’re definitely booking him for our vow renewal parties!”
Phoebe Papademitrous & Mikey Inboden
Married at Mecox House in Water Mill, NY on September 16, 2023
“Phoebe had the pleasure of working with Cosmo while producing a wedding for work, and knew exactly who to call when it came time to plan her very own wedding with her husband Mikey — in fact, she told Mikey the DJ had to be Cosmo, there was no other choice. Going into the process of planning our own wedding we knew we wanted a non-traditional wedding and the vibes had to be amazing. Cosmo’s genuine excitement to be a part of our day made it all more exciting for us. Cosmo took the time to really get to know us as a couple and both of our music preferences by deep-diving into a fun questionnaire and building off of a collaborative playlist. He was always responsive and very helpful with any questions that arose, and was willing to help out whenever needed — he was honestly our favorite person to talk to during the whole planning process.
His incredible energy and his talent to read the vibe of the room got pretty much every single one of our friends and family onto our dance floor. He created such a magical moment where different generations were all dancing together in such pure happiness. Our friends and family were so in love with him and his style that at the end of the evening they were begging for him to stay longer — we still have folks talking about how amazing he is, and how it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to. We consider Cosmo a good friend, and could not recommend him more!”

“From the jump Cosmo was the perfect collaborator for our wedding. He understood exactly what we wanted from the very first conversation we had, and was delivered in every way. Whatever nerves we may have had about making sure our wedding was going to be as fun as possible for our guests, were immediately calmed every time we spoke to Cosmo. He communicated with us perfectly, and came extra prepared for every scenario the day threw at him. Before the real party even began we were already being told “best DJ ever” by guests and every conversation we’ve had with friends in the months after our wedding includes comments about how amazing Cosmo was. The vibes, the songs, the finesse, all of it was perfect. No notes. We have even gone to see him perform in NYC after our wedding and he blew us away. We cannot recommend him enough. Cosmo has fans for life in us.”

“When it came to planning our wedding, our number one concern was that everyone have fun. People came far to see us, and support us, they put on nice clothes! We wanted to make it worth their while – so we made it a killer party. Cosmo was instrumental in that.
Cosmo was kind and patient and so helpful. He took time early on to understand the vibe we were looking for – to get a sense of our individual tastes, our taste as a couple, the mood we wanted to create, and managed to weave it all together into a perfect series of needle drops. We knew every single song that was going to play that night, and yet every one of them felt like a surprise. People went nuts. People still talk about it. It was perfect. Cosmo did that. He created that sense of welcome and fun and verve that got every single person on the floor. (We even got the waitstaff dancing.)
Years later, people are still talking nostalgically about our wedding. Us most of all. We owe a lot of that to Cosmo. He’s a lovely man, and a good friend. Couldn’t recommend anyone higher.”

“The DJ aspect of our wedding day was a very important element to us. We did not want a traditional wedding DJ who simply had props and the same line dances you find at many weddings. We initially reached out to Cosmo to help point us in the direction of someone of a non-traditional wedding DJ and to our surprise he happily offered his services. From the preparation and planning stages to the day of Cosmo was one of our favorite vendors. He arranged multiple meetings in the months leading up to the wedding to help us curate our vision and vibe for the day. The planning included a fun worksheet to help him get to know our musical taste Cosmo was available for our rehearsal the night before and day of he was at the venue first thing in the morning. He was there early for set up, sound checks and offered to lend a hand anyway he could.
Our favorite touch to our reception that Cosmo coordinated for us was our first dance song. We have a vinyl record collection and wanted to play our first dance song “You Send Me” by Sam Cooke off our vinyl copy. This was especially important to us because all the imperfections and skips in that vinyl copy made it truly feel unique to us. Cosmo cued the vinyl and our first dance song perfectly. We could go on and on but Cosmo truly set the tone for our wedding and made the day run seamlessly. We have heard nothing but compliments from our guests. One thousand times over I would choose Cosmo again!”

“Cosmo is able to grab the energy in the atmosphere and take it to the next level with his strong intuition, incredible taste in music..incredible energy… he is just beyond dynamite!!
When we first met him, he took the time to really get to know us as a couple and listen to our music preferences and style. The day of our wedding, he was incredibly professional and delivered beyond the expectations of just the “music vendor” but stepped in with solutions to help put out fires. He was also super collaborative with our other vendors which is something you don’t realize is invaluable until you’re put in the position. The night of our wedding, he transformed the space and turned it into the party of our lifetime!! I would consider booking him for ALL future, milestone events! Thank you Cosmo! We love you!! xo- Virginia and Ferd”

“When we got engaged and started looking at venues, the first thing we both whole-heartedly agreed on was that the music, and thus the DJ, would be the most important ingredient of the party. Everyone had a recommendation, but the vibe and chemistry were just always missing. Finally, through a common connection we met Cosmo, and the stars aligned.
From our first meeting with Cosmo, it was perfectly clear that he not only got us, but also sought to understand the nuances of every couple he works with. He took the time to explain how he would craft the musical arch of our wedding, including how he would shift as needed to keep people engaged, and gave us the ability to select & control as much as we wanted. We’re both in events, so control is everything. That said, a few calls, texts, and shared playlists in, we felt so confident in Cosmo – knowing who we are, what kind of party we wanted, and the type of music that sang to us – he had our trust, so we asked if he was comfortable taking the lead. Without skipping a beat, Cosmo took the reins.
We have a few music-loving friends (read as music-snobs), and on the wedding day during cocktail hour, I already had each of them come up to me and ecstatically remark on how amazing the song selection, transitions, and mash-ups have been. They were right, it all set the perfect mood. Huge win! Cosmo then rolled right into the party, feeding off the crowd and playing what was wanted and needed throughout to keep the energy alive and everyone going.
The next day, and following weeks, every guest had glowing things to say about Cosmo. The music was a tremendous part of our wedding, which we’ll remember forever. Cosmo was more than just that though, as he made everything he touched enjoyable and fun. We couldn’t be happier and so much of that is due to Cosmo.”

“Cosmo was the highlight of our wedding. He showed up, knew exactly what to do and how to do it. He was as professional as it gets. This is a special day you want to remember for the rest of your life and Cosmo plays the soundtrack that goes with it. He exceeded all expectations and created a vibe like no other. He made this one of the most memorable days of our lives and we now consider Cosmo a friend and part of the family. I know who I will be calling next time I want to throw a good party! COSMO! COSMO! COSMO!”

“Cosmo is a professional in every sense of the word. We booked him months in advance, but he never forgot about us. A month or so before the party, he reached out to make sure he knew exactly what we had in mind. Having seen him play many times before, we knew we could trust his judgment about music. What we didn’t know but were pleased to learn was how wonderful he is at helping plan the event around the music and making sure the music fits in just right. We told him which song we wanted to start the dancing with and which song we wanted to be our first dance, and we let him do the rest. He played tunes for sure, but he also worked with the event planner at the venue to make sure everything went off without a hitch. And it was a hell of a party. Can’t count how many times folks came up to us to tell us how amazing Cosmo was, and quite a few said he was the best DJ they’d ever seen. Can’t recommend him enough”

“To say that Cosmo Baker simply ‘DJed our wedding’ would be the understatement of the century. He felt the love in the room then took it to the next level, using his turntables the way a conductor of an orchestra or director of a film would. The vibes were perfect and the selections were unparalleled, from my own personal rap favorites to my wife’s deep cut ska selections. Cosmo’s expertise and confidence not only helped define an amazing party, but put my wife and I completely at ease throughout the night — and on a day filled with so many unexpected responsibilities (and in-laws) that’s a peace of mind you can’t put a price tag on.”

“We were fortunate enough to have the legend, Cosmo Baker, DJ our wedding on 9/10/2016. My wife and I are music junkies, and we needed the perfect DJ. We needed a fun, “in-touch” DJ, but we also needed someone professional and polished. Having grown up listening to his mixes and being a DJ myself, there was no one else I could even imagine for the job. From the moment I reached out to him about the wedding, Cosmo seemed genuinely excited and engaged. He was extremely prompt with answering questions and checked in several times on his own leading up to the event. On the day of the wedding, everything went perfectly smooth. Announcements, formalities, and of course dancing was all executed perfectly. We had a packed dance-floor with the perfect playlist to our day. After 2 years, our guests STILL call us and tell us how good the music was. This is something your guests will remember forever! Thank you Cosmo!”

“Aside from being a very good friend, Cosmo Baker is an excellent DJ. One of our absolute favourites. We were delighted to have Cosmo DJ at our wedding, and as we’ve seen many (but never enough) times at various parties over the years, he brought his own unique style to the party, while achieving the overarching task at hand: keeping the vibes right and the dance floor happy. His infectious energy had family and friends of all ages doing their own chosen generational dances in unison. It was magical. We might get married again just to relive the moment! Stranger things have happened, right? See you in 2035!”

“Working with Cosmo was fantastic. From the outset of the process he was exceptionally warm and made it unambiguously clear that he was working with us to create a fantastic day. Cosmo really listened to Sarah and I as we attempted to describe the wedding we wanted to have. His knowledge took a huge burden of planning off our shoulders, and his disposition makes him a joy to work with. After hiring Cosmo we had the sense of a huge weight being lifted off our shoulders because we knew that the dance party was a guaranteed success.
On the day of the wedding, Cosmo managed to keep our entire guest list on the dance floor for two and a half hours. Playing through some distractions caused by the venue, Cosmo went way beyond the term ‘professional’ and made music a central part of the wedding. In the week since the wedding we’ve heard more from my friends and family about the DJ than about the ceremony because people cannot believe how much fun they had. When the parents of both the bride and groom are among the last people to leave the dance floor, the DJ did a great job. When I was introduced to Cosmo, I was told he was ‘world-class,’ now I know why. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Cosmo to anyone.”
Aaron Yoo & Fara Homidi-Yoo
Married at Ruschmeyer’s Resort in Montauk, New York on September 6, 2014
“Cosmo is, as my wife Fara puts it, ‘the DJ of my dreams.’ Having seen him numerous times from gigs performances in NYC and beyond, she knew that he had the arsenal of 90’s hip hop that we, in particular, die for, in addition to the phenomenal set he plays on any and all occasions. But just as important, the first time we sat down with him to talk about our dream day, our still-mythical wedding date months in the future, he got it, and got us. He knew the right questions to ask, the right fears to calm, and his excitement was second not even to our own. And he left us with homework: to come up with our essential guide tracks, our ‘must-have’ songs, from which he filled out the cocktail hour and reception.
And on the day, after all the months of anticipation, we were truly floored by the inspired set that Cosmo spun, mixing Leon Russell into The Weeknd and traditional Afghan music into hip hop. The consensus was that none of our guests had lived a better dance party than what happened on our wedding night.
One memory, of how much Cosmo loves the music: in the wee hours of the morning, half an hour after the music had stopped, Cosmo came outside to find the legends that were still partying on, and he said, ‘I got one more! Everybody come back in!’ And that’s when the Soul Train happened. If you want music, if you want to dance… Call Cosmo.”
Joseph Patel & Kari Bauce
Married in Napa, California on May 24, 2014
“There really is nothing more lovely than a springtime wedding in the Napa Valley, particularly if you’re the one actually getting married. We kept things small and intimate, only about 80 people (incredible, really, considering one family is from India and the other with Texan roots). We kept things simple but special; cute but modest. What was really important to us was being able to celebrate our official union in front of the people we cherished the most.
The intimacy and joy of that day extended to every detail, including who we used as our wedding DJ, too. Both my wife and I are music obsessives and have particular tastes – so this was an important detail of the overall ceremony, not to be taken lightly. But because music has been my profession for 20+ years, I personally know hundreds of DJs we could have hired. Many are close friends. Some are famous. Some are just music savants.
But the more I thought about it, the more obvious it became that hiring Cosmo was the only option for us. Cosmo is a fantastic DJ – an endless knowledge (and collection) of good tune, excellent taste, understands when to play certain records at certain times, has a deep understanding of the room and environment and the people he’s broadcasting too. Never one to phone it in.
Nothing prepared us for just how overwhelmed with love we both felt that day. It’s still what I remember and most hold dear from that day. And when we remember how special that day was for my wife and I, Cosmo is a big part of the reason why it was a perfect day for us.”

From Carolyn: “I had Cosmo Baker perform at our wedding at Studio Square Long Island City as a surprise/wedding present for my husband, who is a huge fan of his. It was so hard trying to keep the surprise from my now husband, but Cosmo made it so easy. He was amazing to work with, so passionate about what he does, very professional, and he personalized everything to our event. We frequently had phone conversations and emails about the big day. I could not recommend him more especially if you want a wedding with a little more pizazz and funk.”
From Justin: “I had the pleasure of having Cosmo Baker surprise perform at my wedding thanks to my wife. I was shocked, it was awesome and Cosmo, of course, killed it. He played his own style, which I was happy about because thats what I expect when I hear him play and I didnt want that to change just because it was a formal wedding. He crushed it, the party raged, it was a night I’ll never forget.”
Linda & Pierre Weintraub
Married in Gothenburg, Sweden on January 26, 2013
“For our wedding, we wanted the kind of party for our guests that we ourselves didn’t want to leave. We had an unconventional wedding with a sneaker theme and Mediterranean food. The ceremony itself took place a few hours prior the reception with just our closest friends and a family. The reception started with us telling our story and culminated with the news of us becoming parents later that year.
Knowing Cosmo from before we knew what kind of DJ he is and what he brings to the table(s). A true professional in the realest essence of the word. Prior to the wedding we had extensive contact, regarding flights and music and such. We combined a list of tunes we like, mixing in some Swedish music as well as classic hip-hop, electro and dance music.
When it was time for Cosmo to take the wheels of steel nothing less than magic was created. All kinds of music was blended and mixed in a seamless and entertaining way, even the rare requests got some spin. It wasn’t just a DJ set, it was a performance. The kind of performance our guests still talk about – 2 years later.”

“Cosmo is an amazing, consummate professional! He provided the soundtrack to the most beautiful memory of our lives. He arrived prepared and on time, was polite and was filled with compassion. Cosmo was able to intuitively “read” the room in a way that absolutely made the reception beyond our wildest dreams. Frankly, in our case we thought that would have been a bit of a challenge, since our crowd was incredibly diverse both generationally and culturally. But we got nothing but raves. His catalogue and selection is uniquely vast that my crowd of 300 felt like he was DJing just for them. Cosmo is more than a DJ, he’s a rare artist.”

“When a couple draws up their wedding day, they want every detail to be perfect. My wife found herself fretting over the seating, staff, food, timing, and inevitably, things we had no control over like the weather. I won’t say these make-or-break an evening, but they play an integral role for your guests. I, on the other hand, may have been slightly fixated on a single detail. I wanted a soundtrack that would live up to what is billed largely as the greatest day of your life. While in college, I spent the better half of 3 years following Cosmo’s various residencies around the city. These nights, particularly the famed Remedy at Fluid, were the high-water mark of my social calendar. My circle of friends back then knew my passion towards Cosmo’s sets, so much in fact that my roommate at that time, sensing the weight our upcoming nuptials, took it in his own hands to ask Cosmo if he would act as DJ for the reception. That same circle of friends all contributed to this effort to secure the bag that is an internationally renowned DJ stepping in to play the wedding DJ role, and like that we were one step closer to our perfect day. Cosmo was with us each step along the way in a collaborative relationship. I would’ve been at home with an uncompromised set from the Palmer Social Club in ’98, but was aware that a block of Queensbridge rap may not sit as well with the grandparent set. He was adept as a sounding board over my anxieties on the magnitude of the day and conflicted feelings of patronizing certain age groups. Cosmo’s versatility and encyclopedic knowledge of genres eased any insecurities I may have had about the crowd. What separates him from other DJs is his ability to make an evening of music flow; he truly does take his audience on a journey. The square footage of our dancefloor was occupied without vacancy for the entire evening. When guests bring up our wedding, the first thing they remark on was the music. This goes for that Cock Rock loving uncle or Pinochle playing great-aunt. He truly made the night magical for all involved.”

“Pretty much the only things Mali and I wanted to make sure were on point for our wedding were the food and the music. Being a DJ, selecting a DJ for our big day was a huge decision, but it was with zero hesitation that I asked Cosmo to be our musical man of honor. There are few DJs I’ve encountered throughout the years who have the vast and deep musical knowledge and the skills to put all that music to use for any crowd quite like Cosmo Baker. Leading up to the date, I don’t think we told him much more than “This is the song for our first dance and we love Stevie Wonder, Fleetwood Mac and Prince” and just let him run wild from there. With those minimal cues, Cosmo was off and running and kept our friends and family packed on the dancefloor from start to finish, despite the hot hot Summer heat. Wishing we could relive that night over and over again. If you and your loved ones truly love music, then Cosmo is truly the man to rock your wedding reception.”
Alex & Courtney Epton
Married at Brooklyn Botanic Garden in Brooklyn, New York on November 20, 2010
From Alex: “Music and dancing is such a huge part of how we met and fell in love. Not to mention the fact that I’m a music producer and DJ myself. Lots of musicians and music lovers were going to attend the wedding so the DJ aspect had to be on point.
100% full disclosure: We never even considered letting anyone else do it but Cosmo. He did such a great job, people have been coming up to us for years who remember dancing at our wedding and saying stuff like “I never even sat down once!” From dinner through to the end of the night he paced everything perfectly AND Managed to incorporate whatever request list we had into the playlist seamlessly.”
From Courtney: “Cosmo sat down with us several times leading up to the wedding to make sure he really knew what we were hoping for. My parents wanted this dance, the mezinka, which I had never heard of and was definitely nervous about – and Cosmo not only managed to find it but found an awesome version sung by Mila Jojovich! My mom jokingly complained after the big night that she couldn’t get pictures of everyone at their tables because everyone was up dancing all night.
We’re coming up on our 10th anniversary and we’ve been talking for years about how we dream of Cosmo DJing our 10th anniversary party. Our wedding was such a special day and Cosmo was a huge part of making it all happen. We couldn’t have dreamed of a better wedding DJ. Thank you Cosmo!”

“I was incredibly fortunate to have worked with Cosmo Baker for my wedding in 2008. As a DJ myself, music was one of the most important elements of the day to me, so having Cosmo behind the turntables was really like a dream come true. If you’ve ever heard Cosmo DJ, you know that his love for music runs deep and his skills as a party DJ are unparalleled. Perhaps more importantly, Cosmo is a thoughtful and caring human being, which translates into the way he approaches DJ, especially the way he DJs a wedding.”

“Cosmo absolutely killed our wedding. Literally the entire wedding group of 150 people danced for 3 hours straight until we got kicked off the beach. He was able to bring the parents on the dancefloor with the Motown jams and snuck in all kinds of contemporary hits for the younger folks and cousins. He literally catered to the tastes of the entire party in a way that kept everybody pumped. A night I will remember for my entire life. Not only that but he recorded his entire set and gave to us which we listen to all the time.”

Married in Wellfleet, Massachusetts on September 2nd, 2007
“Cosmo was a consummate professional for the entire process. He knows that weddings are once-in-a-lifetime special events with demanding clients who want everything, especially the music, to be perfect. Cosmo’s selections for our guests was very skillful and right on target. Not easy to keep a diverse, international crowd of young and old folks dancing all through the night, but that’s exactly what he did. I remember those songs as if it were yesterday. The party and the environment he created for us was energetic, romantic and above all, FUN. We are eternally grateful to Cosmo for everything he did to make our wedding pure magic. The memories will last a lifetime!”
