ARD Podcast With Cosmo Baker

My friends Lowbudget, Dirty South Joe and Flufftronix have started a new, REALLY funny and interesting, podcast that they’re calling ARD – which stands for Awesomely Righteous Dudes (but also for Philly folk there’s another meaning / connotation for “ard” haha…) Last week the homies invited me to sit in as a guest and we had a great time, as we discussed topics such as Wesley Snipes conspiracy theories, the BBQ Beat genre coined by yours truly and the good/bad/ugly of other retronyms like boogie and yacht rock, verification on Joyner Lucas crappiness, 80s music movies, theme parties and how they’re not all bad but kinda mostly are, Knight Rider, divorce rock and post-divorce rock, children’s TV shows and their lasting impact, early 90s underground hip hop culture and playing Clipse for snobby backpackers, overseas UK+NY drill rap collabs and New York making great rap again, the return of Jai Paul, my favorite current band Sault and their mysterious personnel, Inflo and his Charles Stepney-influenced sound, our varied opinions on cell phone requests both plain and fancy, the new Kid Sister song and how it would fit nicely in Scrubs, XXXtentacioni, Lowbudget’s love for Scrubs, the latest in Old Town Road news, updates and traffic, IGOR for the kids vs. IGOR for the old head, filtering the constant flood of new music through curators, the impact of how music spreads today vs. how it used to, the iTunes panic and Fluff’s forecast of Apple’s slow death in the non-mobile market, the USA’s dwindling cultural capital and how it’s maybe not a bad thing, and may others.

We had so much to say that the episode was chopped up into two parts.
